Windows 10 RTM (TH1 build 10240) -- download full version, before release date

Microsoft has now finalized Windows 10, ready for its release later this month. Sources familiar with Microsoft's  selected build 10240 as the final release to manufacturing (RTM) copy, allowing PC makers to start loading the software onto new machines ready for release. We understand that Microsoft is signing off on the build internally today, and may announce the RTM publicly by the end of the week or choose to ignore the milestone and focus on the launch. While Microsoft is planning to launch Windows 10 on July 29th, new PCs with the software won’t be available until some weeks later. Microsoft is now pushing for existing and new device owners to upgrade to Windows 10 as part of a new marketing campaign.

Microsoft will first roll out build 10240 to its Windows 10 testers, and the company is now focused on patches and fixes that will also roll out alongside the OS launch. While the RTM process is a milestone for Microsoft, especially almost 20 years to the day the company finalized Windows 95, it’s really just one step in a new model that will see Windows act more like a service. In the future Microsoft will be updating Windows 10 regularly, especially the built-in apps that power most experiences in the operating system. Microsoft will test these future updates with its Insider program first, before rolling them out more broadly over the coming months.

But what if you want to do a clean install?

Unfortunately, no new ISOs have been provided [because] it wants insiders to try out the upgrade path. (this what i do)

Fortunately, the ESD files that Microsoft uses to ship these new builds allow anyone to create new ISOs.

In my case Windows 10 have been downloaded to C:\$windows.~WS ... Now I'm creating Windows 10 ISO 32 and 64 bit via media creation tool... Notice the Product Key config is Xrml (Digital License)..

When Windows 10 Technical Preview is upgraded to a new build using the PC Settings Download & Install method, Microsoft uses the ESD file format to deliver install files needed. ESD stands for Electronic Software Delivery, the Windows install.esd file contains the usual Windows install.wim file (WIM = Windows Imaging), encrypted and compressed. Install.wim file in its turn contains everything needed for a complete Windows installation.

Things you should know:

A Windows 7 or Windows 8/8.1 product keycannot activate Windows 10. Windows 10 uses its own unique product key.

By default, Windows 10 builds are pre-keyed, meaning, you do not have to enter a product key and should not be prompted to enter one as long as you upgraded from an activated Windows 7 or Windows 8 or Windows 8.1 license or Windows 10 Preview build.

If you perform a clean install on first attempt, you will have to start over from an activated Windows 7 or Windows 8/8.1 installation.
If you are prompted to enter a product key, click Do this later and give it a few days, Windows 10 will activate automatically.

Activation servers are being overwhelmedat the moment because of the volume of upgrades, so give it some time if you get an error message such as (0XC004E003, ,0x8007000D, 0x8007232b or 0x8007007B) Windows 10 will eventually activate as long as you upgrade using the appropriate method.

There is no need to know your Windows 10 product key, read the following 'Understanding Product Activation in Windows 10:

If you are unable to enter the product key:

Press Windows key + X
Click Command Prompt (Admin)

At the command prompt, type the following commands:

xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx - represents your product key
Hit Enter on your keyboard

Now type the following command and press
slmgr /skms kms.xspace.in

The following command can force an activation to occur if it’s not happening automatically after going through the steps above. First, open an Administrator Command Prompt by right-clicking the Start button or pressing Windows Key + X and selecting Command Prompt (Admin). Type the following command and press Enter:
slmgr.vbs /ato

Many people report having to run this command several times. if you see an error message, try rebooting and running it again, wait and run it again, or just wait and let Windows activate automatically. Microsoft’s servers may be overloaded at the moment you’re trying to activate.
