(1) When spelled Mbps, short for megabits per second, a measure of data transfer speed (a megabit is equal to one million bits). Network transmissions, for example, are generally measured in Mbps is your internet connection speed.
(2) When spelled MBps, short for megabytes per second, a measure of data transfer file size, for example is your hard-drive or RAM.
Mbps: (Small "b") A megabit per second (Mbit/s or Mbps) is a unit of data transfer rate equal to 1,000,000 bits per second or 1,000 kilobits per second. 8 Megabits per second is equivalent to 1 Megabyte per second (ie. 8 Mbps = 1 MBps). Hence 1 Megabits per second = 0.125 Megabyte per second (ie. 1 Mbps = 0.125 MBps)).
MBps: (Capital "B") A megabyte per second (MB/s or MBps) is a unit of data transfer rate equal to:
1,000,000 bytes per second, or
1,000 kilobytes per second, or

Normally bandwidth speeds are measured in Mbs or Kbs
HDD Space is measured in KBs , MBs or GBs
If u want to convert MB to Mb times by 8
If u want to convert Mb to MB divide by 8
The MBps is faster than than the Mbps by some way
If you got 1Mbps internet speed is equivalent to 128kb Transfer / Download rate per seconds.
1MB File size / 128kb per x 1 seconds = in 8 seconds Download Complete
1 minute there is 60 seconds / 8 seconds = 7.5 MBps per minute
Note: I just use 128kb for basics Speed 1 Mbps (Megabits) = 1,024KBps (Kilobytes)
If you got 2Mbps internet speed = Download Rate is 256KB Kilobyte file size
1MB File size/ 256Kb per x 1 seconds = in 4 seconds Download Complete
1 minute there is 60 seconds / 4 seconds = 15 MB per minute
If you download 570MB file size with 2 Mbps that is = 38 to 40 minutes
In other words... Download rate may vary in your internet speed :)

An alphanumeric character (e.g. a letter or number such as 'A', 'B' or '7') is stored as 1 byte. For example, to store the letter 'R' uses 1 byte, which is stored by the computer as 8 bits, '01010010'.
A kilobyte (KB) is 1024 bytes, a megabyte (MB) is 1024 kilobytes and so on as these tables demonstrate.
A document containing 100 characters would use 100 bytes (800 bits) - assuming the file didn't have any overhead (additional data about the file which forms part of the file). Note, many non-alphanumeric characters such as symbols and foreign language characters use multiple bytes.
