Maximum RAM For Windows 32-bit and 64-bit

Maximum RAM for Windows kanina tinanong  sakin eto sa page ng blogmytuts..

32-bit  or x86 Windows has an address space of 4GB  Part of that is used by system BIOSes and graphics memory.

With a 256MB graphics card about 3.3-3.5GB of RAM can be addressed and used, assuming you have 4GB fitted.

If you fit a graphics card with 1GB of memory only about 2.6-2.8GB of the RAM would be addressable and usable.

Again...

32 bit only supports up to 4 Gig and some of that will not be accessible to the OS depending on
how much of the hardware, such as video, has to be mapped into memory...

So If you Upgrade RAM  ...  Sample is 8Gig SDRAM DDR3 (nasa Php 2600 dipende nadin sa brand so kingston na yung 2,6k) Better install  64bit OS..

4 GB RAM is really not much nowadays, you should go for 8 or even 16 GB (RAM is rather cheap compared to good processors). A Core i7 with only 4 GB RAM would be a really awkward, unbalanced configuration. 8GB RAM with as good a processor you can afford (i5 or i7, whatever, but a reasonably fast one) is probably a better choice whatever the application you have in mind.

When it comes to the 64-bit editions, the amount of memory that the OS can address depends on which edition you are running.

Here are the upper RAM limits for the different editions of Windows 7 64 bit:

  •     Starter: 8GB
  •     Home Basic: 8GB
  •     Home Premium: 16GB
  •     Professional: 192GB
  •     Enterprise: 192GB
  •     Ultimate: 192GB
These limits are similar to those for Vista editions, expect that Vista Enterprise and Vista Ultimate have had their upper limits raised from 128GB to 192GB. In Windows XP x64 bit maximum limit is 128 GB.

Here are the upper RAM limits for the different editions of Windows 8 64 bit:

  •     Windows 8 : 128GB
  •     Windows 8 Professional: 512 GB
  •     Windows 8 Enterprise: 512GB

NOTE: Maximum RAM for Windows depends also on Processor..  there are 16Gb  support and 32Gb or more..
Ex. Xeon E5-26xx workstations (HP Z820 and Dell Precision T7600) claim to support up to 512Gb of memory with Windows 7 Professional. Microsoft says that Win7 Professional only goes up to 192Gb...
