South Korea Make Computer Gaming a College Major
As a child, were you told by your parents that computer
gaming would destroy your life and get you nowhere? Were you grounded
from using the computer when you got low grades in school? Well, here’s
some good news for you! You can now have a bright future with computer
gaming!
Chung-Ang University, one of South Korea’s top 10 schools, will be accepting computer gamers into the school as “athletes.”
Starting this school year, the university will be accepting eSports applicants and putting them in the school’s Department of Sports Science, which is traditionally known as the home of ball games and other physical sports.
The offer may be non-traditional, but maybe Chung-Ang sees this as a step towards making gaming the next “it” in the next few years.
